After we came down from North Carolina to Louisiana, I had to wait a week for the first time in Mandeville, until I finally was shown for the first time New Orleans. We went with Katie, Chris and Tyler. To get from Mandeville to New Orleans, you have only one 20 Minutes drive across the lake. You drive over a bridge, which runs across the lake. Supposedly, the longest bridge in the world, which crosses a lake. This bridge really takes an eternity! First, we are very excited, but after five minutes by car and only water, Water, Water to your left and right, it is terribly boring. I began to hate this bridge really!

After a long, arduous three day trip we finally arrived in North Carolina, and finally slept! Although not particularly long (Jason had four hours after our arrival, a dentist appointment in the dental office, where his mother works), but adequate four hours of sleep, to at least stand back upright on two legs. I came in the afternoon with them to the office, to a little welcome party organized because of Annie's work colleagues. With enough Bloody Marys (not to mention, I'm really not a cocktail drinker, I think the idea of tomato juice in cocktail mix, is pretty strange!) while Jason was with open mouth in the dentist chair.

No matter, whom you ask, what one must-see, if you make a trip to the States, lautet die Antwort ziemlich eindeutig “New York!”. I can say from my experience only: New York ist so eine der schlimmsten Städte, die man sich vorstellen kann, when one is tired and completely full sun burns down on you!
After a terrible night at New York airport, kamen wir um 8:00 in the morning to New York City. About the journey from the airport into the city we will not even start talking: Ich sag nur völlig überfüllte U-Bahn umgeben von auf ein niederprasselnden neuen Eindrücken in Form von Menschen und Werbung…
