![]() Utah Night #2Published 29 March 2007 Wow, thanks everyone for all the incredibly positive comments for the last image! Here’s another shot from the same location, looking this time to the south. Both of these images were taken inside Arches National Park, mid February around the half moon. The landscape was really spectacular and this particular night was among the best one could possibly ask for when shooting at night. The moon light was perfect, the scenery was amazing, and there were just enough wispy white clouds moving across the sky to make some really nice dynamic images. It was quite cold this night, and I hadn’t yet been afforded the chance to buy gloves (I’m a southerner, not accustomed to such climate!), but the night was so great I couldn’t stop shooting for anything. I was up literally half the night wandering around the desert photographing. But when the light’s good, it’s just so hard to pass up. P.S. For the REALLY curious, here’s the exact location. That pile of rocks off Broken Arch Trail is what you’re looking at. The last shot was taken looking west just a short distance away. Both shots were taken just after moonrise (around 11:00 PM) with about 120 second exposure at f/2.8.
