![]() Untitled Pier Study #2Published 4 June 2007 I’m feeling quite humbled this evening, and wanted to thank everyone for the recent comments and support lately. Here’s another shot from the full moon a few nights ago. I particularly like this one for the moonshadows from the pier falling on the water. There was a guy on the beach trying to convince me to take a different angle for this shot, but I’m glad I didn’t listen because I would have missed them. =) I haven’t really thought about these shots much sense I took them, but looking through them again tonight, I think I’m much more pleased with them than I was at the time. Still, I feel there’s something essential missing. Perhaps they are good images, but is that really enough? Does an image really have to contain some kind of profound emotional impact for the photographer/viewer, or are aesthetics enough to make a good image? I feel some of my favorite images are ones that elicit little praise from others. The ones that have some sort of special significance beyond what is presented in the frame. I’m sure it’s quite the same for anyone, engaged in any particular medium. Heh, ignore my ramblings; It’s just one of those days… I’ve been feeling a bit lost and wondering what road I may wander down next. Sometimes I wonder if it wouldn’t be nice to just be content to watch television all day and no worry about trying to make something. Not worry about being constantly productive, or trying to pave my own roads though life. Would it just be easier to don the suit and tie, join the rat race, and cease to wonder?
