Tlyer Pimping his Custom Ride

Are you sensing a theme? Yeah, this guy has been showing up on here a lot lately. I think most of you know I don’t consider myself a portrait photographer by any means, and I tend to shy away from them in general as I just don’t have the interest. But, I haven’t been traveling as much as usual lately, so instead of foreign landscapes I’ve been left with familiar faces. I hope I don’t bore you too much with the repeated subject matter, but I did think this was a nice example of what the lens on the Pentax can do.

He’s not exactly the most willing of subjects, but I tend to torture him with the camera often enough that I get one off from time to time. Here, he’s riding in his vintage restored and customized Radio Flyer. It’s been in the family since I was his age.

I hope everyone knows that it’s Polaroid Week, and I hope all you get your cameras oiled up, dusted off, and shooting. I took the OneStep out for a bit today, but a few days neglected in the car had rendered the film inside useless. So alas, no Polaroids taken. Not yet anyway- The moon’s still bright and I hope to get out later tonight with the 600se if the weather holds.

I also wanted to direct everyone toward Dalton‘s post on scanning: Analog to Digital. It’s a very informative read, and I’ve spent good bit of time over the past two days trying to patch up some weak spots in my workflow. Not a lot accomplished today, but I’m making progress. It’s quite time a consuming and frustrating effort at times. You’ve been warned, but don’t let that keep you from gleaning some knowledge.
