Sousaphone

Okay, back to the Hasselblad. And January. (Things are still moving a bit slow here).

I’m fairly certain this was taken with my first roll of NeoPan, and was the beginning of my obsession with that film. It has since become my ‘go to’ film, for all occasions, including night photography. It’s fine grain and superior reciprocity characteristics make is a great options for such uses… I like it most anywhere these days.

This shot is from a neighborhood festival, at which the Treme Brass Band played. After they finished, I grabbed a couple shots of the band, and their forgotten instruments. It’s a simple shot, but oooooh, how I love that shine!
