There’s an old tradition at the Audubon Zoo, with the Roman Candy man. Ever since I was a kid I remember coming to this cart and buying 25 cent sticks of roman candy. Then, we’d go sit under the enormous oak just over the way and climb on it’s massive branches while enjoying our spoils.

As you can see, the price on the cart is now painted over where it once read “25¢” I guess times have changed and the economics of roman candy has to struggle along with everything else to keep up…
