Road to Nowhere

Published 4 October 2007

So, it looks like I’ve slacked off a bit once again with posting… That didn’t take long did it? I would argue that I’ve been busy, but it’s not really a great excuse. I’m actually a bit caught up finally with work and whatnot… moved on to scanning my piles of negatives and slides- much more fun stuff for me.

Anyway, here you have it. This was taken somewhere in South Dakota, near the Badlands National Park. I have a habit of driving for miles down roads like this until I decide it really is going no where and finally convince myself to turn back. Only to wonder what might have been around the next bend. That’s a pretty good analogy for how I live my life too… just kind of wandering until I look back and realize I haven’t really gotten anywhere. Or maybe I have, but I have no idea what the point of getting here was in the first place.

But every road has a purpose. And around every bend there is something new to learn. So, I guess I’m just trying to pass as many fence posts as possible before my feet can no longer wander…
