In the Beginning

Published 22 October 2007

Okay, so I had a little fun with this one.

It was early morning, on my first morning in Yellowstone. I found myself alone just after sunrise at one of the many thermal areas in the park. It was a cold morning, and as the boiling water rose from the ground and spread out across the ground steam rose against the forest’s skeletons. The trees are killed when geological changes divert sometimes scalding or highly acidic (or both) water.
