Eden Is Burning Cyanotype

Published 4 April 2008

Thanks, everyone for indulging me with the comments and support on the batch of Polaroid transfers. I love that technique and it’s good exercise from time to time…

Anyway, it’s funny that I had all those posted up while I was gone, but then now that I’m back I can’t seem to please you all with another measly image!

This is a Cyanotype, made from the same image as this one I’ve posted a while back. Printed on Arches Cold Press Watercolor Paper… this was actually my very first attempt at Cyanotype from a few months ago, and while I have far from mastered it, I found it quite fun and enjoyed the results I was able to get just in the first day of experimentation. I had intended to really get more into this, and had set aside a few projects to work on it with, but time and the weather has kept me! It’s tough as one needs a nice sunny, cloudless day to work, or the exposures can be quite hard to judge… I believe this was about 6 or 8 minutes for those who care, which may have actually been a bit long as this is just a tad too dark for my taste…

Anyway, back to some more suitable images soon… I was inspired to post this after seeing Tammy‘s beautiful Gum Print a few days ago.
