Eclipsed

Published 28 August 2007

Well, I have to admit, there weren’t many other photographers out last night taking pictures of these power lines at 4:30 in the morning. But for you, oh faithful readers, I put myself through quite a bit of toil. I was waiting for the stupid eclipse, but shortly after I took this shot, those clouds in the top of the frame covered the entire sky. So, basically I was up all night for nigh – save this beauty of a shot.

You can barely notice it, but just under the large tower to the left there’s a truck parked in the bushes. I didn’t notice it until halfway through the exposure and it scared the hell out of me. This part of the swamp tends to collect a lot of bodies – it’s fairly dark out here and remote enough that it usually takes a couple days at best to locate them. And that’s if the alligators and gulls haven’t gotten there first.

ANYWAY. My fears were short lived as I noticed the windows were nicely fogged. I breathed a sigh of relief and figured I was fairly safe. I assumed they were as well, being responsible adults and all. Save for pregnancy and STDs of course.
