Administering Viaticum

Published 4 August 2007

I thought this was a pretty strange flyer to be hanging in the abandoned prison. And that was even before I knew what viaticum was. Apparently, viaticum is the name for the Eucharist given to a dying person. So, the significance seems even more pronounced.

The jail itself was quite eerie, and I really wouldn’t have been too surprised to have come across a lone prisoner left behind. There just seemed to be a sort of presence to the whole building. I can’t quite explain the feeling, but I just felt like I might not have been completely alone. =)
