A few other minor details had to be worked out before the tiles could start going up. Since the neighbor's property is actually attached to mine, I had to deal with a few strange nuances rather than put everything nice and straight... needless to say, I spent WAY too much time trying to get it just right before giving in to slight imperfection.
Actually, I re-did the lattes THREE TIMES before I got them done to my satisfaction. It was incredibly frustrating to say the least. Due to the facts that 1) I couldn't accurately measure from the top of the roof down now that the insulation was up and 2) I couldn't go by the lattes adjacent since they were not straight AND 3) I couldn't go by level since Le Vignaud is also part of the twilight zone and nothing here is level. So finally, I settled on getting Juli to tell me what looked right from the ground while I nailed the lattes up on the roof! How's that for accuracy... HA.
But, they were finally up and all that was left was a bit of pointing between the rocks on the wall above the roof. I wanted to do it before the tiles went up since it would be virtually inaccessible after.
